In Fuengirola a penthouse is usually an ático in a 1970s or 1980s block — a top-floor flat with a wide railing-ringed terrace, the kind that lines Las Rampas and the seafront avenidas of Los Boliches. At the upper end it means a newer sky-flat at Doña Sofía or near the Higuerón with a roof terrace and an open sea horizon. The portals file both under penthouse and price them as if they were the same thing. They are not, and on a frontline ático the terrace and its sea aspect carry most of the value.
